Goutam Ghose’s lockdown short film Somoyer Smitimala was screened at the 27th Kolkata International Film festival on Friday. Set on the backdrop of pandemic and the subsequent lockdown, the film features
Gargee RoyChowdhury in the lead.
Talking about the film, Gargee said, “We must remember that during our shoot, the Pandemic was in full swing. We shot the film in March last year and for all of us, it was like a whiff of fresh air.
To be able to showcase the film in front of such a large audience is a fabulous feeling.”
Gargee was very happy working with Goutam Ghose. “Working with Goutam Ghose is very satisfying. I wanted to absorb his experience in filmmaking. He never treated this as a short film. He acted as if he was shooting a full length feature – such was his seriousness.. This was the first film I shot in which I did the playback. I am so glad that Goutam Ghose paved my way to sing in a film,” the actress told us.
